Coastal Chic Bedroom

Sarah Says...

This bedroom features an eclectic mix of furniture that creates a relaxing, casual, coastal-inspired design with hints of luxury. Bold patterns give this space a big personality, while a subdued color palette creates a calming atmosphere. The combination of sophisticated elements and semi-rustic, cottage inspired pieces are the perfect balance of luxe and charm.

To me, there is no place more serenely beautiful or more relaxing than the beach. I wanted to create a bedroom that depicts the feelings of being near the water.

Each element I selected was chosen to create a coastal-inspired design that was high in style and in comfort.

To start, I selected the stunning Antigua Light Classic Patterned Rug. The light background color of this piece reminded me of sand, making it the perfect choice for a coastal-inspired space. The soothing color palette of blues and greys featured on this rug was the perfect inspiration for the color palette of the design. Antigua's attention-grabbing, bold pattern is high in style while the distressing and variation in color saturation makes it feel low-key and casual.

To bring softness and luxury to the bedroom, I chose the Clara Upholstered Headboard and Gayle Curved Frame Ottoman. These two pieces in vanilla fabric make a beautiful focal point out of the bed. Nailhead trim highlights the gorgeous silhouettes of each of these pieces. This added detail lends sophistication and elegance to the design.

The Blue Belfort Distressed Three Drawer Chests flanking the bed brought charm and character to this room. The cottage style of these pieces keeps the space from feeling too serious. The heavily distressed finish adds a level of approachability to the design. They provided a gorgeous pop of color, pulling the blue out of the rug. They are beautiful statement pieces.

The Cora Table Lamps were the perfect bedside accessory. They add a bit of glamour, thanks to the shiny gold leaf finish combined with the natural mother of pearl inlays. These high style lamps were just what this room needed to take it from coastal to coastal chic.

This space is one where you can almost smell the ocean air and hear waves crashing outside the open windows.

This design is perfect for anyone who loves the casual, relaxed, feel of coastal living, but also appreciates a chic, high style design with a bit of luxury. This would make an amazing guest bedroom. When someone enters this bedroom, I want them to feel calm, comfortable and at peace.

This is a bedroom where you can forget about your stress and rejuvenate your mind while enjoying the beauty of an upscale, stylish interior.
