Library Nook: The Collector’s Edition

Kiyonda Says...

This room is for the young at heart with an old soul… The person who up-to-date current pop culture and with a love for history and amazing architectural details… The lover of the arts and most definitely owns a record player - or plans to!

A room with great bones and character is always a plus! In this case, I love the traditional architectural detail and styling of the built-in carpentry with a playful juxtaposition of stylish modern furniture, art, and accessories. When you curate the things you love (with edits along the way), it just works.

I am inspired by the hunt to find just the right piece of art, furniture or even the item that finds you when you were not looking for it. I love seeing how a collection of what may seem to be random items come together and create a beautiful space that tells a story.

The Jonkoping Arm Chair was one of the first pieces selected for the ability to lounge in style. The modern lines and pop of color were a must for our twist on a library/office space.

The Alton Ceiling Lamp brings a nod to the iconic mid-century modern design. I love a signature black and white moment in any space so the Barnes art piece was a great layering addition to the space.

The woven Checks Stool Orange adds playful color to the space along with texture. Little cubes/ottomans like these are perfect for extra seating or a place to put your feet up. The Elton Accent Table was love at first sight! It is a piece of art all on its own so it was a must-have in our collector's edition library nook!

I want someone to feel intrigued by the juxtaposition of stately and playful. I want people to feel like they are surrounded by the things they love. A place of relaxation while enjoying some of their favorite pastimes.
